These years were wonderful training for Bari and the biggest missing piece in all of this was clear guidance regarding her relationship to money and all areas of ones finances. In all her years of exceptional education, she had yet to learn how to manage her personal finances, learn how to start a private practice or learn how to counsel her clients on issues related to money. Bari was determined to not let her relationship, or lack there of, to money be a self-imposed prison and so she took a break from the mental health field and followed her questions which led her to taking a job in the accounting department for an organic bakery. Much to her surprise this little next step, which appeared at first to be quite a detour, led to her second career as a bookkeeper with a strong local clientele in Northern California.
From there, Baris journey has been a natural unfolding that led her to create the Conscious Bookkeeping Method, which is a unique integration of the psycho spiritual and financial realms and a wonderful philosophy and practice that encompasses the practical, psychological and spiritual levels of money and bookkeeping. She teaches the Conscious Bookkeeping method with the intention that it will heal some of the tensions between the internal and external challenges of our postmodern life and that it will assist and guide the individual, couple, family and entrepreneur into a more intimate, clear and successful relationship with themselves, with each other and with their contribution to the world.
Bari is currently growing Conscious Bookkeeping into an organization with the support and collaboration of many wonderful colleagues, students, mentors, friends & family. She sees growing a business as an opportunity for: deep psychological and spiritual growth, lots of rich connections with people, tremendous amounts of creativity and an incredible opportunity to have a positive impact on people and the planet.
Bari resides in Boulder, CO, with her
husband, Forest and two kitties, Finn
& Lily. And it has been said, that
on many occasions, she can be found hiking
in the hills and doing Afro-Brazilian
dancing.
